Whose life matters?

I try to avoid the predictable cycle. A black man’s life is lost.  In this case, George Floyd’s.  A white person in uniform took or played a role in taking it.  Society erupts with commentary.  Lines are drawn. Generalizations, while never entirely accurate, can serve a purpose.  Allow me to be general. Progressives cry systemic […]

To the pastor who has never live-streamed:

The church I grew up in did not have a phone, administrative office, or a full-time employee. My father worked another full-time job and pastored our church. Everyone else volunteered. Time moves fast.  The dog days of summer are here and passing quickly.  Those late mornings for the kids and warm days at the pool are quickly followed by a brand new school year.  Before you know it, school supplies will be on display at Target and Wal-Mart, vacations will come to an end, and […]

10 Steps for Leading Change Well

Change is amoral. This means it is neither good nor bad in and of itself. To put it simply, good change is good and bad change is bad. But one thing is inevitable about any living thing, change is always occurring. People change, cultures change, societies change, and in my world, churches change. One might […]
